<p><strong>Video Content and Production</strong> &#8211; Every video you create should be unique with quality content.  There are some tried-and-true items that all videos should contain. All video production needs to create and follow a plan before they get started. <a href="https://vaforrealestate.com/video-marketing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Developing a plan</a> and following that plan is what leads to success.</p>



<p><strong>What All Videos Should Contain</strong>:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Hook </strong>&#8211; A hook is the first few sentences written to grab the viewers&#8217; attention upfront. It&#8217;s what makes them want to keep watching.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Graphic Intro </strong>&#8211; Include your channel name, logo, and title of the video. Make it short and sweet. </li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Thumbnail </strong>&#8211; Create thumbnails that speak to your video&#8217;s content.  Thumbnails give you control instead of relying on the marketing channel to choose for you.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Search Engine Optimization</strong> &#8211; Optimize your video&#8217;s title with the proper keywords. This will help direct viewers to your video. Viewers will likely not click your video is your title doesn&#8217;t tell them what they&#8217;re going to watch.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Ask Viewers to Like, Share, Comment, and Subscribe to Your Channel </strong>&#8211; Add a friendly reminder at some point in your video to like, share, comment, and subscribe to your channel. This helps you grow your audience quicker.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Call to Action </strong>&#8211; Be sure to include instructions about what the viewers should do next.  It wraps up your video and shows your viewers what they should do next; make a purchase, give you a call, sign up for a list, etc. </li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong> Audio </strong>&#8211; Be sure people can clearly hear your voice. Listen to see that you&#8217;re not speaking too loud, too soft, or in the wrong tone. Check for background noises such as ceiling fans, people, and outside activities.  If you include music, be sure it is consistent with your content and is not copyrighted.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Lighting</strong> &#8211; Make sure your video is clear without shaking. Purchase lights for both indoor and outdoor use. Do your research to find out what will work best for you.</li></ul>



<p><strong>The Six Stages of Making A Video</strong></p>

Now that you know what should be included in your video, follow this checklist to learn how to put your plan into action.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Pre-Production</strong> &#8211; Create an outline and timeline on when you would like to finish each part of the video. Include your own and your team’s schedule, and the time you will need to edit. Make sure to add extra time where it is reasonable to extend, especially during editing time or filming big scenes. Includes items that need to be purchased, if any, for the video – anything you need to come up with for the video and its content.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Have a Script </strong>&#8211; A script is a chronological outline of events in the recording that includes characters, dialogue, scenes, and even camera directions. As you read a script, you should be able to envision the video before it is even recorded.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Filming</strong> &#8211; Hit record and following your script. Make sure you get every angle you need and that you ensure that your lighting and audio are good as you go.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Editing </strong>&#8211; Keep using your script to help guide you to where you want to guide your audience. This will speed up your editing process.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Upload </strong>&#8211; Once your video is ready to go, it is time to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">upload it</a> so your viewers can see it. Remember to fill in all the details in the description box so that search engines find you.</li></ul>



<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Distribution and Marketing </strong>&#8211; Once your video is uploaded, you will need to market it.<a href="https://vaforrealestate.com/video-marketing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Creating the video and uploading it</a> are only the first steps. Without marketing, no one will know it&#8217;s even there. </li></ul>



<p>Planning your video, making the video, editing the video, and eventually uploading and marketing your video to your audience may seem like a lot of work.  (And it is.) However, if you set up a consistent schedule and follow your plan, you’ll get a lot more done than you may realize or think you’re capable of doing.</p>

<p>People fit into two categories.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">1.)  <strong>Extroverts</strong> &#8211; These people are outgoing, sociable, and the life of the party.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">2.)  <strong>Introverts</strong> &#8211; These people are shyer and more reserved.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re an extrovert, you won&#8217;t have any trouble getting in front of the camera to shoot a video.  Introverts find the idea of creating a video with them as the &#8220;star&#8221; a bit intimidating.  So, how do you create videos if you&#8217;re someone who&#8217;s camera-shy?</p>
<h3><strong>How to Create Videos</strong></h3>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Find a Spokesperson.  </strong>If you&#8217;re too shy, hire a spokesperson.  I found a couple of online sites that can help you with this; <a href="https://yourvideospokesperson.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Your Video Spokesperson</a> and <a href="https://www.websitetalkingheads.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Website Talking Heads</a>.  They are pricey.  You may possibly know someone who can do a good job as your spokesperson.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Narrate &#8211; </strong>Just like a spokesperson, you can hire a narrator.  They will read your script.  You will then add them into your video.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Voice Over </strong>&#8211; Create your video and then narrate each slide.  You won&#8217;t have to be on camera but your audience will still hear your voice.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Explainer Videos &#8211; </strong>These videos are short and to the point.  They explain a particular process or idea.  <a href="https://biteable.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Biteable</a> has a free service but it&#8217;s limited.  <a href="https://spark.adobe.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Adobe Spark</a> is another free option.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Be a Story Teller &#8211; </strong>Write your story and set it to images, animation, text, and video clips.  PowerPoint slides can be formatted into video including your voice over.  Use great photography to get your story across to your audience.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Screen Share &#8211; </strong>Invite an expert to share a screen with you to talk about a particular subject and record it. A word of caution&#8230;always keep your audience in mind.  We&#8217;ve all attended webinars where the participants were so busy talking to each other that they made their audience feel forgotten.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Offer a Prize </strong>&#8211; Host a contest and invite your audience to submit a video. Give them a subject and let them do all the work.  Whoever gets the most likes wins a prize.  Make sure you have them sign a release so you can use their videos for your marketing.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re an introvert who&#8217;s too camera-shy for videos, you can still take advantage of video marketing options.  With about 5 billion people watching (and sharing) videos on YouTube every day, you will definitely want to put at least one of these tips into practice in your business.</p>
