What You Need To Know About AI and SEO Rankings

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in content creation has raised a pivotal question in the digital marketing world: Can AI-generated content adversely affect your SEO rankings? While AI offers efficiency in content production, answering this question is more difficult than a simple yes or no. Here’s the truth behind AI content and SEO, providing clarity and guidance for digital marketers and content creators.

Understanding AI Content and SEO
AI and Originality: One of the core principles of SEO is content originality. AI can produce content quickly, but there’s a fine line between efficiency and replication. Search engines like Google value unique, valuable content. AI-generated content that lacks original insights or mimics existing content can negatively impact SEO rankings.

Keyword Optimization: AI tools are adept at integrating keywords into content. However, over-reliance on AI for keyword optimization can lead to keyword stuffing, making the content seem unnatural or spammy. This can harm SEO as search engines prioritize content that provides value to readers over mere keyword density.

Balancing AI and Human Touch
The Need for Human Oversight: To maintain quality and ensure SEO-friendliness, AI-generated content requires human oversight. Human editing adds needed nuances, context, and creativity that AI can but may not fully replicate. It’s this blend of AI efficiency and human insight that can create content that is both SEO-friendly and engaging to readers.

Customization and Brand Voice: AI can struggle with capturing a brand’s unique voice and style. Personalized content that reflects brand identity is crucial for SEO and user engagement. Therefore, while AI can draft content, it’s important to infuse it with the brand’s voice and style manually.

AI and the Future of SEO
Evolving Algorithms: As search engine algorithms evolve, they are becoming more sophisticated in detecting and valuing high-quality content. This means that the bar for AI-generated content in terms of quality and relevance is constantly rising.

Continuous Learning and Adaptation: AI is continually improving, and its ability to produce SEO-friendly content is getting better. However, staying abreast of SEO trends and continuously adapting your content strategy is key. Combining AI advancements with up-to-date SEO knowledge can yield optimal results.

The Bottom Line
AI-generated content can be a double-edged sword for SEO. While it offers efficiency and scalability, it requires careful management to ensure it aligns with SEO best practices. The integration of AI in content creation is not about replacing human creativity but augmenting it. By striking the right balance between AI efficiency and human insight, you can leverage AI to enhance your SEO rankings, not hinder them.

As the old saying goes, time is money. And nowhere is that truer than in the world of social media marketing. The fact is, the faster you can grow your social media following, the better. Why? Because the bigger your social media audience, the more people you can reach with your message. And the more people you reach, the more sales you’ll ultimately make. So, how can you accelerate your social media marketing efforts and get more followers in a shorter period of time?

Here are four tips that will help you do just that…

Use Tools to Automate and Simplify Your Social Media Marketing – There are a number of great tools out there that can help you automate and simplify your social media marketing. Buffer and Hootsuite are two of the most popular ones.
With these kinds of tools, you can schedule your social media posts in advance, so you don’t have to worry about posting in real time. You can also use scheduling tools within your social media accounts. This way, you can focus on other aspects of your business, safe in the knowledge that your social media marketing is taken care of.

Use Images and Videos – Another great way to get more followers is to include images and videos in your posts. Studies have shown that posts with images or videos get significantly more engagement than those without. So, make sure you’re using a mix of both in your social media marketing.

Use Hashtags – Hashtags are a great way to get more eyes on your posts. When you use relevant hashtags, your posts show up in the feed of anyone who’s following that hashtag. This gives you a great opportunity to get your message in front of a whole new audience.

Use Calls to Action – Finally, make sure you’re using calls to action in your posts. Asking your followers to like, share, or comment on your posts is a great way to increase engagement and get more people talking about your brand.

“Being famous on Tik Tok is basically the same thing as being rich on Monopoly.”

~Unknown

Content curation is the process of finding, selecting, and sharing content that is relevant to a specific audience or topic. When used for social media marketing, content curation can help you build a following, engage your audience, and create valuable content for your brand.

Here are some tips for curating content for social media marketing:

Know Your Audience – Before you start curating content, it’s important to know who your audience is and what they’re interested in. This will help you find content that is relevant and engaging for them. You can use social media analytics to get an idea of the demographics of your followers and what kinds of content they engage with.

Find High-Quality Content – When you’re curating content, it’s important to find sources that produce high-quality content that is relevant to your audience. A good way to find these sources is to follow influencers in your industry and see what content they share. You can also use Google and social media search engines to find content related to your keywords.

Curate a Mix of Content – Don’t just share content from one source or type of content. Curate a mix of content from different sources and types to keep your audience engaged. This could include blog posts, articles, infographics, videos, etc.

Add Your Own Commentary – When you share content, add your own commentary to give it context and help your followers understand why it’s valuable. You can also use content curation as an opportunity to share your own opinions and ideas related to the topic.

Share Regularly – Content curation is only effective if you’re sharing content regularly. Plan out a content calendar and schedule your content ahead of time so you can be consistent with your sharing.

If you’re looking to grow your social media following, consider using some of these tips. Engage with your audience by posting interesting and relevant content. Make sure to post regularly, and use hashtags to reach a wider audience. Use social media ads to target specific demographics, and partner with influencers to help promote your content. With a little effort, you can soon see a significant increase in your social media following.

The Issue of Old Content

One of the most upsetting things about seeing slow progress on your website is what happens to your content. You work hard on all the posts you upload to your site. Each time you add something new, it involves research, planning and a lot of time sitting down just writing. Sometimes you’ll feel a little uninspired. Other times you’ll create posts that you’re truly proud of and that you can’t wait for the world to see. You upload them and they get… 10 views.

Then you do it all again. Yes, this is a pretty crushing feeling but there are a few reasons that you shouldn’t feel so bad. And in fact, this can be turned into a strength.

The Power of Old Content

The first thing to recognize is that just because old content isn’t getting read, it is still providing value to you. It is building up your SEO and it’s helping you to gain traction and attract bots. Over time, doing this will help your newer content to actually get seen. What’s more, is that it looks good for viewers. When someone visits a site and finds it completely empty, they’ll often just leave and think it’s amateurish. But if your site is filled with old content, it looks established and important. While some posts won’t get read, if they contribute to your mission statement and they serve an important purpose, they can still add a lot of value that way by establishing your authority.

What to Do With Old Content

One other important thing to consider is if your content is ‘evergreen’ (meaning that it isn’t time-dependent like news). Then you can simply re-share it later on. Just post that old content on Twitter or Facebook again and remind your audience why it’s so good. Once posts are popular, your old content can work wonders for you and gain thousands of views that it never got the first time around!

Better yet, why not frequently update and improve your old posts? If something is somewhat time-dependent, you can then come back to it year after year to improve it and make sure that it’s still relevant. Not only is this good for your site’s accuracy and reliability, but it’s also something that Google loves to see and that can be great for your SEO!

Blogs. What are they good for? Blogs are actually fantastic whether you are running a business website or you are simply using blogs for fun. In terms of business, blogs can prove to be a supplemental form of advertisement and you will find them to be a unique device that you can use to keep in contact with your clients. Further, in terms of personal use, blogs are definitely an excellent way to stay in touch with your family and friends, even if they are across the globe. Best of all, blogs can often be established for free.

Blogs are still quite popular and appear all over the Internet. In fact, the more people realize the great benefits that they can get from using blogs, the more people will be using them. Blogs not only serve as personal journals, but they also serve as business supplements. People love communicating with others by using blogs and allowing others to comment on their postings.

Blogs are regularly updated which means that they have fresh content on them all the time. This makes them appealing to visitors and search engines alike. Every new posting means new content. When you update your blogs daily or weekly you will see them grow rather quickly. With fresh content, you can improve your search engine ranking. Whether you use the blog alone, or you used it to accompany an already existing website, your fresh content can be used to draw more and more traffic to either your blog or your website, or both.

Additionally, you can add links to your blog and start a link exchange campaign. In doing so, you will see your page ranking increase in search engines because SE algorithms frequently focus on the number of links that are pointing to your website. The more external links that recommend your site or blogs, the easier your site or blogs are to find in big search engines like Google.

Blogs can be used to freely advertise your products or services. Blogs can serve as free web space for you to use to advertise your business. Blogs are also great for providing existing clients with updated information about new products and services you may be offering. Want your clients to share their feelings about your products and services? You can use blogs to receive and share client testimonials. There really is no end to the benefits one can derive from using blogs.

What is equally fantastic about blogs is that there are ways that you can create blogs for free. Sites like Blogger, owned by Google, allow you to establish a blog free of charge. Moreover, there are a variety of layouts, fonts, and templates to choose from and Blogger even allows you to post images. Finally, sites like Blogger give you the opportunity to archive your postings so that visits can return to them again and again. WordPress.com is another excellent resource with tons of themes and plugins.

Finally, creating blogs can be simple and fun for everyone. Friends can create clubs and use blogs to establish them, friends and family can share photographs and sentiments, and finally, personal expression can be satisfied when creating blogs. In fact, if you have a particular passion, why not share that passion with the world by starting one or more blogs? Communicate with people from all over the world that share the same passions that you do!

Probably the most common way to promote and grow a mailing list is through a landing page. This is a single page on your website that will be dedicated to selling the merits of signing up. It will detail what the new subscribers can expect to get from signing up and it will provide the opt-in form where they can go ahead and enter their email address and name.

But while this can work well, it’s important not to overlook one of the other most effective ways to grow a mailing list: through your blog.

Why a Blog is Perfect for Growing a Mailing List

There are several things that will make a blog ideal for growing your mailing list.

The first of these things is that a blog is well-suited to gaining more traffic via Google. Google brings people to websites based on the content. This is what people are searching for in the first place in most cases and it is what you use in order to provide value for your readers.

Simply by blogging regularly, you can get more people to actively look for the page where your opt-in form will be and this is something that you wouldn’t have been able to accomplish as easily with a landing page – seeing as that will only have a small amount of copy focussed on promoting the list.

The other big benefit of a blog is that it is perfect for growing more readers over time. The more you will attract people back to your site. They’ll eventually start checking your site regularly because they will know that it’s likely to provide information that is useful, interesting or just entertaining.

And if they read your blog enough and become fully engaged, then eventually they might decide they want to get more information from you. Thus, they might choose to sign up for your mailing list when otherwise they might not have done. You’ve given yourself the time and the space to build interest and trust and this is what has eventually led to people signing up for your list.

How to Make it Work for You

To make this work for you then, you need to make sure that you place your opt-in form somewhere prominent alongside your posts. One good tip is to put it in a widget in the sidebar, as this way your readers will see it at all times, even if they skipped the homepage. Likewise, consider adding it to the bottom of your posts. And while you’re at it, make sure you mention it in your content – sometimes the best way to get subscribers is simply to ask!

Content makes the web go ’round. If you want more traffic, if you want more loyal visitors and if you want better search rankings, you need content. This is even truer on social media. Sharing your own content is perhaps the best social media strategy and if other people share it with their networks too? Even better. This can result in potentially exponential gains that massively accelerate your growth. But how do you write content in such a way that people will want to share it?

Tip 1: Make it Specific – The single most powerful tip I can possibly share on this topic is to aim your content at someone specific. That means that it should be tailored for your ‘persona’ – the demographic that you think will want to read your content. This works because it leverages the communicative nature of social media. Generally, we share content with someone to show that we are thinking of them or we share it generally because it in some way reflects our personality. For either of these things to work, you first need to write your content in such a way that it will specifically appeal to that certain type of person.

Tip 2: Facilitate Discussion – Another tip is to facilitate discussion or to make your post something that can be used as part of the discussion. Making your post something that asks a challenging question and takes a potentially controversial stance is one way to do that. A safer way is to make a post that can explain a topic or back up an argument, thereby making it something that people can share with their friends or people in online communities when they’re having discussions.

Tip 3: Choose the Right Images – The right images go a long way to making your content more sharable and engaging. Did you know that a lot of the time, people click ‘like’ or ‘share’ before they’ve even read the content? In that case, they’re going off of the title and the image alone. So make sure your image says something and really jumps out.

Tip 4: Choose the Right Title – With that in mind, you of course also need the right title. What is a good title for social media? Clickbait titles work very well but are frowned upon for being spammy. So learn from them, and don’t copy them. Make your titles emotionally resonant, unique and interesting while having some meat to deliver when people click!

In doing this, you will likely have discovered that there are huge amounts of information out there on this subject and a lot of it is contradictory! Knowing where to start can be a massive headache and sometimes it can feel as though you stand no chance of ever getting complete knowledge.

What’s more important than consuming all that information is to focus on just the good information – just the accurate information that is relevant to creating a great blog. And when we do that, we realize that actually, it is a lot easier than you probably think.

The Mistake – Mistaken or misguided SEO is all about trying to hack Google. It’s all about trying to trick Google into thinking your site is a top authority, by building specific links and by posting keywords. It’s highly technical because it is based on algorithms and ‘systems’ thinking.

And sometimes this works! But then Google gets wind of whatever new technique is all the rage, it plugs that loophole and the related site gets penalized.

So instead focus on the same thing that Google is focused on: the user. Stop writing ‘for’ the search engines and write ‘for’ the readers. When you do this, you are doing what Google wants you to do. Google wants to provide useful and entertaining information for its users. And if you get this right, then eventually Google is going to reward you with future updates.

The Most Important Trick – Write long, high-quality blog posts. If you do this, you will get people to your site naturally and they will link to your site because they want to share the excellent content they are seeing.

At the same time, you also do need to build those links. The thing we do need to take from SEO strategies is that the best links are the ones that come from the most highly regarded websites. These sites are invariably the ones that Google trusts – and if you want to see which sites Google trusts you can just take a look at the sites it features in its news section. Other popular sites are those that have a .edu TLD or a .gov.

Finally, big brands will also invariably be trusted by Google. If you can get links from those sites, they will boost the credibility of your site by a huge margin. If you can’t, you need to get links from sites that have links from those sites.

Put these tips into practice to see the best return on your blog posting and marketing efforts.

Great Content Makes the Web Go ‘Round

Being successful online means you need to familiarize yourself with great content. This is especially true for any social media campaign which entirely hinges on the strength of its content. Content is writing, images or video. It’s what visitors to your social media pages and website will consume and it is likely what will bring them there in the first place. But what makes for great content? And how do you make sure you have content like that?

Great Content is Well Written
For written content, it is of course highly important that it be well-written. This means that you need to create content that is easy to read and that is entertaining and comes across as professional. You wouldn’t believe how much it can undermine a brand when the content is written in poor English or filled with typos and poor spelling.

Good writing should first and foremost complete the objective of communicating the point to its audience. That means you should avoid unnecessarily flowery language and instead focus on getting the message across in as few words as possible. This means the reader will need to spend less time reading, which in turn means they get better ‘value’ for the time they invest.

Great Content Has a USP (Unique Selling Proposition)
This is where a lot of people miss the point. Great content needs a USP. In other words, it needs to be different from other content on the web in some way. Just being ‘proficient’ is not enough. If you write content on working out, or if you write content on making money online, your audience has hundreds of other sites where they can find that exact same information. So then, why should they get it from you?

Instead, make your content objectively different. Make it stand out in some way and be unique so that your audience has never seen anything like it. That might mean covering a new subject right away. It might mean posting on a combination of two different subjects (and finding common ground between them). It might mean finding a new angle on an old subject.

Good Content Improves Lives
Finally, dramatic though it may sound, good content improves lives. In other words, your audience needs to be better off for having read what you’ve written. This means you should post content that is entertaining, informative or both!

If you’re not comfortable with writing your own content, hire someone to do it for you. If you like to write but don’t know where to start, check out authority websites. See what they have to say about your subject. If you’re quoting something, be sure to give proper credit to the author.

Google is also a great place to start searching for resources.

The post The Strategy to Writing Great Content appeared first on Second Self Virtual Assistance.

Believe it or not, your blog is an important sales tool. Every post your write is a chance to make a sale or warm someone up to an idea. But heads up…This is only true if you know how to write blogs posts that sell. Not just any blog post will get people clicking through to your sales pages and lead pages.

So how do you craft effective blog posts that sell like crazy? Follow these simple strategies.

Know Your Audience

Eavesdrop on their conversations. Visit niche forums, social media groups and blog discussions. This simple step will give you a great insight into what your audience thinks about certain topics and products in your niche.

Interact with them on social media. Here you take it a step further by actually talking to your audience. Ask them questions, find out their pains, figure out what kind of solutions they’re looking for.

Outline and Research

Find a good quote or inspirational story to share at the beginning of the article. This is a great way to engage someone emotionally.

Statistics and other data to back up your claims in the article. For example, you might share a sobering real estate statistic. You can then launch into a post about how the reader can avoid being a statistic.

Craft a Compelling Title

Share benefits. The idea here is to answer the “what’s in it for me?” question that’s floating in the back of your prospect’s mind.

Arouse Curiosity – Sometimes this is as easy as using a word like “secrets” in your title. This makes your prospects want to find out what you know that they don’t.

Use Social Proof – This headline gives your reader the impression that everyone else is doing this. For example: “Here’s What The World’s Best Real Estate Agents Do To Help Buyers Create Wealth…”

Ask Questions – A question can arouse curiosity, help qualify the reader, or even just engage them by making them think.

Include a Strong Opener

Tell a story. Share a story about how someone very similar to the reader overcame the same problem your reader is now facing.

Share a shocking fact or statistic. The idea is to get someone to sit up and pay attention. For example, share a shocking fact about how many people (real estate fact) each year.

Say something unbelievable or controversial. Is there something in your niche that almost everyone believes is true? You can shock people right out of their seats by opening an article that goes against this mainstream thought. Ask a question to at least get people considering the idea that something might not be true.

Bust a myth. Do some people in your niche believe something that is hurting their results? Then you might open by busting this myth.

Ask a Question. This is a great way to engage your readers and get them to start qualifying themselves.

Introduce a Solution

At this point you’ve given your reader something useful, such as an overview of a process, tips or something else to help them solve their problem. Now you need to introduce the rest of the solution, along with the benefits of this solution.

Include a Strong Call to Action

After following the previous steps, you’ve led your reader right down to the end of the article. And best of all, the reader is very interested in this solution you’ve been talking about. Now it’s time to drop a call to action in front of them along with a link. This is where you tell them what to do next, and why they should do it. For example, include a link to your free lead-capture download.

Proof and Polish

Read it out loud. This will help you catch portions of your content that are bumpy or otherwise don’t read well.

Get someone else to proofread. They’ll catch the errors, as you’re probably too close to the work to see them.

Look for ways to make the content more engaging. Sometimes this is as simple as using different words. For example, instead of saying something is “fast,” you might describe it as “lightning quick.” This paints a picture in the reader’s mind and draws them into the content.

As you just discovered, writing blog content that sells has a part in the technical side of writing, such as good grammar and spelling. However, it’s also about knowing your audience, drawing them in, and then leading them to your call to action.
