One of the reasons for creating landing pages is to incentivize people to join your mailing list. To maximize the number of email subscribers, your landing pages need to look professional and convince your visitors that they will receive the benefits they’re looking for. WIIFM? (What’s in it for me?)
Landing Page (also known as Squeeze page) Tools
There are a lot of tools available to help you create professional-looking landing pages. Most of them are drag and drop. This makes them remarkably easy to create great-looking landing pages. If you are a WordPress user, there are some great free plugins you can use to create your landing pages. The two I like best are Elementor and Beaver Builder. Always create the best=looking landing pages for your sales funnel.
Two Choices for Your Visitors
When visitors arrive on your landing page, you want to give them two choices:
Choice #1 – Sign up for your incentive and your email list.
Choice #2 – Leave the page.
Make sure that there are no other links that they can click on the landing page (There are a couple of exceptions such as your privacy page and terms and conditions). Forcing visitors to make one choice or the other will increase your conversions.
It’s all about benefits. People are reluctant to provide their email addresses because they know they will receive promotional emails. You need to show them on your landing page how much they will benefit from joining your list. Always use a strong call to action.
Start with offering them an incentive that they cannot refuse. This can be a special report in PDF format, a special video that reveals secrets and so on. Use enticing headings on your landing page. Use bullets to emphasize benefits.
Include your Opt-In Form. After signing up with your email autoresponder service you will be able to create your first email list and a web form or opt-in form to capture new subscribers. This will consist of two text fields which are “first name” and “email address”. There will also be a “submit” button on the form which the user needs to click.
Add an Image of your Incentive Once you have created your incentive, you will want to create an image of it. This image needs to be very appealing and captivating. You can outsource this work to a talented freelancer if you do not have the time or skills to do this. If you are providing a special report as an incentive get a professional-looking e-cover created for it. With a video, you can have an image created that looks like a video. An enticing image will help to increase your opt-in rates.
Creating a landing page that converts is easier than ever. Use these tips and watch your conversions increase.
